RECOGNISING THOMAS COOKE
We are extremely pleased to tell everyone of the very kind donation of an engraved stone to recognise Allerthorpe as the birthplace of Thomas Cooke which has been supplied by Allan at Timeless Memorials in Hull. The plinth and stone were laid outside the Churchyard on 25th April.
We also worked closely with the Department of Physics of York University to have the Blue Plaque erected at the front of the Village Hall and are grateful to Betty Lambert for all her research together with the production of an information booklet to further celebrate this very worthy earlier resident of our Village.
